When Sunday the 14th came it brought along with it the day for our very first photographic trip in association with photoCyprus community.
7 AM and we were all present and correct to set off on the first leg of our journey to Northern Cyprus. We arrived at our first meeting point keen to see if any of our other members where there to join us.
9 AM sharp and refreshed with a nice Cypriot coffee we were ready to move on. By 11 AM we had arrived at the pier head in Karavostasi and were well underway taking our first photos of the day, which had started off perfectly.
We only encountered one small problem throughout the day which was to present itself to us when we arrived at the mine site. Through no fault of our own the mine had recently been closed to public access without any notice, but as Costas told us this will be the first of many times that we will suffer this problem in our photographic lives.
The canvas was clear for us and we still had plenty hours of light ahead. After a mini meeting we decided to head towards Soli and see the Amphitheater and museum, which was great.
After some time there and a quick bite to eat it was time to head off back to the crossing, stopping for photos of interest along the way. Ending a perfect first trip with a nice cool beer in a taverner in Famagusta…………..
Thanks to everyone who took part and a great big thank you to Ade who put all of his time and effort in to researching the plan and routes.
